My name is Arlene and I want to work for you!
I have been proud to represent our Burlington community for the past eleven years as Trustee for Ward 1 and 2 on the Halton Catholic District School Board.
As Trustee I have been a strong voice, advocating on behalf of parents, students and rate-payers.
I am asking for your support to be your Councillor in Ward 1 on Burlington City Council.
I pledge to be an active listener, act diligently and work for you to ensure effective decisions are made in the best interests of you, the Ward 1 constituents.
“I have had the pleasure of living next door to Arlene’s father for many years and was pleased to hear that Arlene was running for Council. She was brought up in a very loving family with strong morals. She is a well-educated, conscientious, honest, hardworking individual who has served her community well for many years. Her expertise will serve us all well in our city. She is a very warm, caring individual who will listen and try hard to resolve individual and our community’s problems.”

“Arlene has integrity and the willingness to work the long hours required to fulfill the position of city Councillor, in a ward where she and her family have resided and worked for almost 30 years. Her dedication of three terms with the Halton Catholic District School Board as a trustee should be a clear indication of her qualifications.”

“Having worked closely with Arlene during my tenure as Director of Education, most especially during her terms as Vice-Chair of the Board, I have experienced firsthand, Arlene’s passion, integrity and thorough understanding of governance. She has a proven track record of fiscal responsibility, and a strong understanding of municipal planning, legislative and legal processes. Most importantly, Arlene loves her community! She is highly visible and responsive, and always holds herself accountable to the people she serves. Arlene will make an outstanding Councillor. I cannot imagine a stronger champion for the residents in Burlington’s Ward 1!”

Burlington Entrepreneur of the Year – 2017
“As an educator and separate school supporter in Ward 1, I am saddened to hear that you are not returning to your role (of trustee). I considered you one of the most sensible of the group around that table. Your expertise, compassion and knowledge will be truly missed in the HCDSB. On a different note, after years of trying, I am pleased and thrilled to learn that Assumption will finally receive the much-needed renovations which you largely were responsible for in getting this done. What an awesome final accomplishment that you can take pride in as you retire in the role of trustee.”
Past Principal of Assumption

She is hardworking, honest, and very capable with experience in business, management, family life, and community with 11 years as School Trustee HCDSB. She will be a strong asset for her ward and the City of Burlington.”

“Arlene is a voice of reason and brings clarity and expertise to each situation she enters and in all she does. I have been lucky to get to know her through her role as a Burlington Trustee, where she represented her constituents with transparency and thoroughness. She embodies the attributes of true leadership and professionalism.”
